Dr. Craig Bennett

Craig Bennett, MD

As a father of four small children, Craig Bennett, MD, truly understands the importance of family. That carries through to his family medicine practice at Ashley Wellness Center (AWC).

Experience

Originally from Esko, Minn., Dr. Bennett joined the Ashley Wellness Center team in 2014. He works full-time at AWC treating patients of all ages, including men, women, infants and children.

In his 12 years of experience as a family physician he has delivered hundreds of babies and provided care for women, children and adults — his oldest patient was 105 years old.

While his medical practice at the AWC does not include deliveries, he provides prenatal and pediatric care. “I have a lot of experience with women’s health, in particular obstetrics, and of course, pediatrics. I truly enjoy seeing children of all ages and being a father of four kids of my own, it adds a unique style to caring for kids,” says Dr. Bennett.

Dr. Bennett received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota’s School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Franciscan Skemp Family Medicine Program in La Crosse, Wis.

At AWC, Dr. Bennett works with employee patients and their families on overall health and wellness, with an emphasis on prevention, along with pediatrics and women’s health focuses. “I intend to grow this type of practice here at the AWC as this portion of my practice provides a great deal of satisfaction and professional enjoyment,” says Dr. Bennett, who also has a wealth of experience in sports medicine. “I also plan to incorporate sports medicine here at AWC. I enjoy spending time with student athletes and spent many Friday nights at the local football stadium walking the sidelines, both as a coach and treating injuries.”

Another key aspect of Dr. Bennett practice is helping adults manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure/hypertension and high cholesterol. Because at AWC, the health and wellbeing of the entire community is mission central. “I am working on bringing to AWC a full family medicine clinic atmosphere, caring for all ages and problems. We hope that people will choose this clinic for not just their urgent care needs but as well their day-to-day healthcare needs, including prenatal care and well-child care.”

Outside of Work

Dr. Bennett resides outside of Trempealeau, Wis., with his fantastic wife and their four children. When not wearing his white coat, Dr. Bennett enjoys his family life, outdoor activities and helping out with local youth and school sports teams.
